I'm considering the purchase of a small sportboat (dry stored, <25', fairly complex).

I've had several larger boats (40'+) and always had thoroughs done during the purchase process. Is it usual (and useful) to have a survey done on small boats?

If so - any recommendations for surveyors who have good experience with small boats?
