Four Dentist in East Hampton CT purchased to mold in early 1980's to shelter income. They produced a fiber glass small sloop, fixed keel, ob motor and did well. The small Able 30 was sea worthy and sea kindly. Many in the Mystic River, CT area consider it to be a well built jewel of a small offshore craft. Cable of reaching Block Island and beyond.

The mold was sold to a builder in Maine. The Able boat company went on to buid larger and more of a custom product.

I learned to sail on an Able 20 and I would love to downsize and re-discovery its joy.
