. Dense fog over the coastal waters this morning.

Dense fog has been reported over the coastal waters this morning with visibility below 1/2 mile. Two areas of low clouds and dense fog are currently producing visibilities below 1/2 mile and causing hazardous conditions for navigation. The dense fog is expected to lift by 11 am with visibility rising above one mile.

The first area of low clouds and dense fog is moving through the ten to sixty miles offshore marine zones from point arena to point piedras blancas. The locations most affected by the dense fog are enclosed in an area bounded by 10 miles west of point arena sloping to 60 miles west of point reyes southward to 60 miles west of point piedras blancas then sloping to 10 miles west of point pinos then northward to point arena.

The second area of low clouds and dense fog is moving northward along the coast from point piedras blancas. The dense fog will continue its northward progression through the morning.

Mariners should remain within their limitations when navigating in dense fog.

. Excessive heat watch in effect from Friday morning through Friday evening.

The national weather service in phoenix has issued an excessive heat watch. Which is in effect from Friday morning through Friday evening.

* Affected area: lower desert of southeast california. As well as southwest and south-central arizona. Locations in the watch include the greater phoenix metropolitan area. Casa grande. Gila bend. Blythe. Yuma. And imperial.

* Temperature: high temperatures 110 to 115. Forecast daytime highs include 111 at phoenix sky harbor. And 113 at yuma and blythe.

* Impacts: excessively hot temperatures can be stressful to animals and humans. Making it hard for the body to acclimate and remain hydrated.

Precautionary/preparedness actions.

It would be wise to complete any necessary outdoor activity in the early morning when the sun and heat are less intense. If you plan to be outside for an extended period of time in the afternoon or early evening. Stay in the shade as much as possible and drink abundant amounts of water. Wear light-colored and loose-fitting clothing. Including a wide-brimmed hat.
